Checks

At Montpellier Medical we strongly believe that prevention is better than cure and we have designed our healthchecks with that in mind.

Our medical ‘MOT’s have three major aims:

  • Identify potential health issues early: Early detection is crucial for effective treatment and management of health conditions.
  • Promote long-term wellbeing: Regular check-ups help you stay on top of your health and make informed decisions about your lifestyle and healthcare.
  • Provide peace of mind: Knowing your health status can alleviate concerns and help you feel more in control.

What is Included in Our MOT Medicals (with prices)

Our MOT medicals are comprehensive and tailored to meet your specific needs. Our standard healthcheck is detailed below (£380) but we also offer a ‘mini medical’ (£200) which is designed to offer a meaningful snapshot of your health in a shorter, more affordable appointment. This is achieved by prioritising the annual essentials such as a lifestyle review, blood pressure and pulse check, limited blood work (to include diabetes check, full blood count and cholesterol) and a urine dip. You can also opt to ‘bolt on’ extra tests (e.g. PSA or Vitamin B12 levels) for an additional charge.

Whether you opt for our ‘classic MOT’ or ‘mini medical’ our experienced team will provide their professional insights and recommendations with the aim of maximising your health and wellbeing.

Detailed Health Assessment

We begin with a review of your medical history and lifestyle to understand any risk factors or existing conditions.

Physical Examination

A thorough physical examination is conducted by our experienced GP, which includes:

  • Cardiac, respiratory, abdominal and ENT examinations
  • Height, weight and blood pressure measurements
  • Breast or prostate examination as appropriate

Blood Tests

We perform a range of blood tests to screen for various conditions. Our standard panel provides measurements of around 43 different parameters including :

  • Full blood count
  • Liver and kidney function
  • Cholesterol and lipid profile
  • Diabetes check
  • Thyroid function
  • Bone health
  • Iron and folate
  • Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D
  • Inflammatory marker (CRP)
  • Prostate or ovarian cancer markers as appropriate

Urine Analysis

A urine test is conducted to check for signs of infection, kidney disease, and other metabolic conditions.

ECG (Electrocardiogram)

An ECG is performed to assess your heart’s electrical activity and detect any abnormalities.

Bowel cancer screening

A QFit test is provided for you to take home and complete in your own time. This is an excellent screening test designed to detect the early signs of bowel cancer and bowel inflammation.

Next Steps

After your MOT medical, we will provide you with a detailed report of our findings and discuss any necessary follow-up actions. This may include lifestyle advice, further tests, or referrals to specialists if needed.
