I knew I wanted to be a doctor from quite a young age, having watched my parents work in healthcare growing up. I studied medicine at Nottingham University before completing my initial junior doctor years in Lincoln and then Nottingham. I decided to do general medical training in Devon before embarking on specialist training in Palliative Medicine. I worked within Palliative Care for 3 years in hospitals, hospices and the community before deciding to make the switch to General Practice and moving back up to Gloucestershire. I continue to work within the NHS but have also worked in private General Practice for over 3 years which has given me an excellent grounding in private health provision. I strive to always stay up to date and have additional diplomas in medical ethics & law, obstetrics and gynaecology and accredited training in the medical management of overweight and obesity. I also hold membership of the royal college of physicians (MRCP) as well as the requisite membership of the royal college of general practitioners (MRCGP).

Even after being a doctor for 20 years I still have a real enthusiasm for medicine. I find people fascinating and genuinely relish the challenge of working out what might be going wrong and how to put things right. I enjoy learning about people, what makes them tick and why they are built the way they are. I am passionate about health promotion, disease management and preventative medicine.

I decided to set up Montpellier Medical in order to provide holistic, personalised care with continuity for both my patients and myself. I hope that it will become a sanctuary in the middle of Cheltenham in which people can expect first class care at a reasonable cost with good access and experienced, knowledgeable doctors.

Outside of work I have three lovely children who keep me extremely busy and entertained, together with the star of the show – our French bulldog Margot. We love to travel and have embarked on a roadtrip of California and one through France to Corsica and Sardinia over recent years. I also love to bake and even applied (unsuccessfully) to the Great British Bake off once! After eating all that cake, it’s lucky that I also enjoy staying active; running regularly and doing yoga and weight training. I have run the London Marathon which is probably one of my greatest achievements but not one I will ever rush to repeat!

I was born and schooled in Cheltenham, before qualifying from Nottingham Medical School in 2004.

Gaining valuable hospital experience around the country in Plymouth, Lincoln, Southampton and Exeter hospitals, I found my love for General Practice in Devon, completing training in 2011 on the Torquay GP training scheme.

I have worked across all aspects of General practice for the NHS from out of hours provision, through locum and salaried posts to being a full time GP Partner for the last 10 years, firstly in the Forest of Dean then moving to central Cheltenham and Underwood Surgery.

I feel that I bring a wealth of experience across general practice from paediatrics through to elderly medicine. My passion for the holistic management of my patients, driven by a background in NHS partnership work and a heart-felt passion for health, has allowed me to shape 20 years of medical experience into a classical General Practice approach to community medicine.

I have a particular interest in paediatric conditions, long term elderly medical management, musculoskeletal joint injections and occupational medicine.

I am a keen golfer, enjoy running and have competed in many triathlons, including Ironman UK. I can happily turn my hand to any racket sport and you'll often find me walking my dog with my family on the hills around Cheltenham.
